Course overview

In this interactive workshop, participants will learn the who, what, where and why of family peer support services. Participants will understand some of the myths and misconceptions surrounding the role as well as how family peer support services can be integrated within a System of Care context. During this session, participants will learn what research and literature is saying about the benefits of family peer support and explore the upcoming opportunities for family peer support services in North Dakota. Learning Objectives: After this workshop, participants will be able to: Articulate the essential qualifications for the family peer support role and how and where family peer support is delivered. Understand why family peer support is an important and critical service for families and how it can be integrated within a System of Care context. Become familiar with some of the myths and misconceptions associated with the role of family peer support services. Learn about the upcoming opportunities surrounding the role of family peer support services in North Dakota. Participants will gain an understanding of what research and literature is saying about the benefits of family peer support.
