Microbiology Serological and Molecular Detection of Bacterial Infections

Course overview

This course provides a review of basic microbial structure, physiology, genetics, and host-microorganism interactions; presents revised classification and nomenclature of clinically significant microorganisms as well as classical and new methods, including molecular testing used in the laboratory for the isolation, identification, and detection of antibiotic susceptibility patterns of microbes from clinical specimens as well as a discussion of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms, including presentation of technical developments available for diagnosing, treating, and controlling these diseases.
