Course overview

Overview of major changes proposed for the 4th edition of the ASAM Criteria from the previous 3rd edition of the ASAM Criteria. This includes updates in the continuum of care to reflect the evolving treatment system, better integration of withdrawal management services into the continuum of care, encouragement of improved continuity of care along the continuum, support better implementation for the ASAM criteria standards, reflect evolving priorities of the field, and support better communication of medical necessity. Program Objectives: 1) Gain an overview of new levels of care proposed in the 4th edition of the ASAM Criteria 2) Understand how biomedical services can be integrated into the continuum of addiction treatment. 3) Understand how withdrawal management services can be provided throughout the continuum of care
