Being Aware of Ability
Tracking # 20-1138760
Course overview
How we communicate about people with disabilities has often been driven by people outside of the disability community. In recent decades, disability advocates have pushed for person-first language. Person-first language puts the person before their disability or diagnosis. The goal of this course is to teach non-licensed direct care workers in post-acute settings about person-first language and how it shapes our communication.
