Racism is so detrimental to society that it is considered a public health crisis. Healthcare professionals need to be able to recognize and address racial trauma in their clients. This course defines racial trauma and explains how it affects clients with marginalized racial identities. It also provides an overview of bias, focusing on how bias impacts the therapeutic relationship. This course describes strategies you can use to address racial trauma in behavioral health with your clients and on a larger scale.
