Course overview

Participants will be able to describe the purpose of a biopsychosocial assessment, will be able to summarize steps for a successful and thorough assessment, will be able to describe how patients subjective perceptions and fear of judgment limit biopsychosocial assessments, will be able describe why patients under report or struggle with their own perception of diagnosis, will be able describe how frequently patients are misdiagnosed, and will be able to screen for suicidal ideation, trauma related symptoms, and substance abuse.
