Course overview

Health care providers are on the forefront of seeing Human trafficking victims on a daily basis in our practices. The evidence shows if taught to recognize these signs, optometrists can be the eyes-and-ears of those victims desperately trying to find help. This course will enable the eye care provider to recognize and report those suspected of human trafficking. The types of this modern-day slavery will be discussed, red-flags on how to spot a victim with a trafficker, and what the appropriate steps that are needed to report these potential victims.
