Course overview

This course is directly related to the prevention of medical errors, legal, statutory, and regulatory policies guidelines, and standards that impact the practicing Psychologists as well as having relevance information for professionals who are involved in other sectors of psychology. It provides the novice and the advanced clinician with common medical errors and how to avoid them. It provides novices who are beginning to do treatment with a solid basis regarding duty of care, standard of care and demonstratable harm and serves to give the advanced therapist both a review of record keeping, HIPAA compliance, duty to warn, confidentiality, informed consent and the Florida Mental Health Act.
