It is important for staff in rural hospitals to understand the rules for releasing information in the hospital. The goal of this training is to learn what these rules are and the details you should know about them. Suggested Audience: Acute care or critical access CFO or person who oversees HIM department and HIM department leadership Upon completion of this presentation, you should be able to: Define Release of Information Recognize Use and Disclosure Recall Types of Requests Recognize Authorization Forms Identify Subpoenas, Court Orders, Affidavits Learning Outcomes Standard: Based upon AHIMA and best practices, AHA, CMS, OIG, OCR, ONC, Iowa Legislation, and ECFR.
