Learner Objectives The Northeast Chapter of the UHMS continuing education mission is to promote educational activities for physicians and allied health professionals in the local and regional areas These activities are based on a needs assessment of the members and on the recommendations of the UHMS Panel of Expert Opinion These activities will improve the scientific and practical knowledge in the areas of hyperbaric oxygen treatment and diving medicine Understand the current knowledge regarding the pathophysiology of avascular necrosis AVN of the femoral head and condyles Describe the proposed mechanisms of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and available treatments for AVN of the femoral head and condyles Describe the goals and selection of treatment based on stage of AVN of the femoral head and condyles To define Long Covid and give examples of clinical signs and symptoms To review the physiology of long covid To review the literature regarding hyperbaric oxygen and long covid To touch on other therapies that may help long covid sufferers Describe the epidemiology of CRAO Outline current understanding of the pathophysiology of CRAO Discuss current approaches to acute management of CRAO Review clinical findings of CO poisoning and current treatment protocols Discuss alternative treatment protocols based on natural disaster staffing and chamber availability.
