This course provides an overview of Borderline Personality Disorder, explaining the DSM criteria, origins, course, self-harm behavior, and current status of treatment. Furthermore, a description of the development of the borderline personality disorder diagnosis is provided – highlighting both the obstacles encountered and the associated achievements. Finally, several programs that have been developed for families with a member who has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder are reviewed. Learning Objectives: 1.
