Course overview

Rehabilitation providers often have difficulty implementing evidence in patient care. Patients, clients, coaches, or referral sources depend on rehabilitation providers to address tough questions regarding patient outcomes, but all providers may not be up-to-date with the current recommendations based on the literature. The goal of this course is to provide real-world application of the research in clinical practice by addressing common questions that rehabilitation professionals may have in a variety of areas. This course will address common evidence-based practice questions to better prepare athletic trainers and other providers to educate their patients and design optimal rehabilitation programs to improve outcomes. The questions addressed in this course include 1) Does graft type influence your rehabilitation process after ACL reconstruction? 2) What factors influence the decision-making process of whether patients with a lumbar spondylolisthesis should be braced? 3) Are group-based arm care programs effective at reducing injury incidence?
