Neck Pain & Stiffness: Assessment and Treatment Through the Sinew Channels

Course overview

Brian Lau DOM, AP This class will take a fresh look at the sinew channels with particular emphasis on Small Intestine sinew channel and its relationship to levator scapula pain. Functional and postural considerations will be explored and a common muscle imbalance involving an elevated scapula will be presented through the lens of the sinew channels. Treatment will focus on motor points, palpating trigger points, adjacent and distal acupuncture points, myofascial release and corrective exercises. Motor point palpation and needle techniques will be demonstrated along with application of Midday-Midnight (SI-LIV) point combination to improve treatment efficacy.
