Course overview
This program will inform nurses of five common foodborne parasitic infections. Readers will be able to: discuss how to prevent infections from two of the most common parasites found in raw fish dishes, explain why ingesting eggs from the pork parasite (Taenia solium) passed in human feces is more dangerous than eating pork containing the parasite, and describe two parasitic diseases that can be transmitted to others by asymptomatic carriers.
