Course overview

CranioSomatic Foundations - 1 is a 2-day course. It covers advanced cranial anatomy, and presents cranial sutural techniques correlated to musculoskeletal function. It begins with details of cranial anatomy and CranioSomatic concepts. The focus is on the cranial vault, but structures of the face are also introduced. This introduction to CranioSomatics begins the process of relating restricted cranial sutures and compensatory patterns of the cranial mechanism to clinical evaluations of muscle dysfunction. A 13-Step protocol of cranial sutural release techniques is taught, with ample table time for supervised skill development. Techniques from Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing, therapy localization, and challenge) are also taught, with applications to identify dysfunctions and verify corrections. The hands-on instruction with supervised practice time provides a strong base for participants to become proficient in detecting and treating cranial distortion patterns as they relate to muscle function. The course concludes with ways participants can use these techniques for self-care, introduce CranioSomatic concepts to their clients, and how to integrate these evaluation techniques and cranial releases into their existing modalities and clinical practice.
