Hallux valgus is a common progressive and disabling foot deformity characterised by a deviation in the alignment of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. It is a painful condition that negatively affects foot function postural stability and quality of life. While hallux valgus cannot be 'fixed' conservative management aims to stop or slow down the progression of this condition particularly for those individuals who want to delay surgery or are not ideal candidates for surgery.
