The International Classification of Function (ICF) is a biopsychosocial model of health which considers contextual factors that influence an individual's participation in daily activities. Rehabilitation professionals can use the ICF to identify functional limitations and increase an individual's participation. The ICF can also act as a guide when identifying treatment goals. As will be discussed in this course goals should be written collaboratively with family members. They should be based on specific functional tasks that are measurable reasonable and attainable within a given time frame.
