Course overview

Staphylococcus aureus, otherwise referred to simply as "staph," are bacteria commonly carried on skin or in the nose. Of these bacteria's, the majority are minor, but others that can cause serious infections. And others that are resistant to antibiotics, this type of staph is MRSA. The setting for such bacteria exists among persons in hospitals and healthcare facilities of which healthcare personnel provide care. Therefore, as healthcare personnel, this course indentifies conditions that increase the risk of acquiring MRSA and list ways to reduce risk of transmitting MRSA.
