Course overview

Patellofemoral pain is often the result of a cumulative load. It reveals itself with prolonged and or repetitive activity or when holding certain positions. Subtle changes in load can add up over time to become a large load. A thorough assessment of the muscles which attach to and control the patella and the knee joint can provide insight into the causative factors of an individual's patellofemoral pain. This course will explore each muscle group that plays a role in knee biomechanics. It will also discuss why it is mechanically relevant to assess each group how to assess muscle length and novel treatment strategies for each muscle group.
