Pain can be constant or intermittent but it must last for more than three months to be classified as chronic. The quality of life of children who have chronic pain is negatively impacted and they may experience emotional distress increased time off school or lower reading scores. Educating children and parents about pain and the associated emotional component is necessary for self-management. This course describes how pain education can facilitate coping skills for both children and parents dealing with chronic pain through dialogue videos and books.
