This one-hour enduring material is part of the two-hour Florida Medical Board state mandated required CME on Prevention of Medical Errors, and may be used to partially meet the 2-hour requirement on this topic. As part of an effort to address medical error incidents, the Florida Legislature mandates that every Florida-licensed physician complete two hours of continuing medical education relating to prevention of medical errors. This course is specific to Florida statutes and is designed to satisfy the requirements of the Florida law and features the mandatory content required by the Florida Boards of Allopathic and Osteopathic Medicine for prevention of medical errors, including root cause analysis, error reduction and prevention, patient safety, and the most commonly mis-diagnosed conditions identified by the two Boards. The purpose of this continuing education activity is to provide Florida physicians with information, tools, and strategies to minimize common performance and diagnostic errors.
