Chronic pain can impact many different aspects of a child's life including their mental and physical health and their school career. Specific factors can affect how an individual responds to pain including their genetics personality traits and physical emotional and cognitive loads. Identifying the factors that may be contributing to a child's pain can make treatment more effective. Treatment for chronic pain often focuses on pain science education. This course the first in a series on pain in children provides an overview of chronic pain in young people and introduces pain science education.
