This course is based on a systematic narrative review of the research concerning the topic of utilizing drama therapy with children and adolescents with psychosocial problems. In addition to providing a review of the effects, means, therapeutic attitude, and supposed mechanisms of change, this article/course also describes the related topics of overall psychosocial problems, internalizing and externalizing problems, social functioning, coping and regulation processes, social identity, and cognitive development. This article/course will provide mental health practitioners with an overview of the research literature regarding the use of drama therapy with children and adolescents who are displaying psychosocial problems, including the positive effects of drama therapy for this population.
