Course overview

An important aspect of providing care and a sense of well-being to older adults is encouraging independence. An individual's independence begins with providing care that promotes physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The course discusses the use of person-centered care methods to restore independence, along with the use of assistive devices to help facilitate independence. The purpose of this course is to provide direct care staff with information about promoting independence through patient-centered care.
