Course overview

The transition from adolescence to young adulthood to adulthood involves changes in development and independence that have implications for health. This brief course highlights priority health issues for adolescent & young adult males and identifies key gender & racial/ethnic disparities. Health topics include violence, substance use, mental health, reproductive health and healthcare access & utilization. Learning Objectives: 1. Evaluate the demographics and social contexts experienced by adolescent and young adult males. 2. Gain knowledge of the data on mortality, unintentional injury, violence, substance use, mental health, reproductive health, overweight, and health care access and utilization among adolescent and young adult males.
