The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare professionals with basic information concerning medical aid-in-dying (MAID) laws in the U.S. It presents the history of the legislation and identifies states where medical aid-in-dying is legal. It provides information about the legal requirements of medical aid-in-dying laws and an understanding of the step-by-step process an individual must follow to take advantage of their rights under the laws.
