Course overview
In this course, the learner will gain a more in-depth understanding of how to treat the typically developing child with bowel and bladder dysfunction. The course will touch on concepts of appropriate patient education, evaluation and treatment, and selection of outcome measures to treat this population. The participant will learn evaluation techniques unique to this population of pelvic floor patients. Exercise, modalities, and manual therapy techniques will be discussed for treatment. Several videos will demonstrate techniques that the learner will be able to immediately implement within the clinical setting. This course is appropriate for anyone who may be looking to add this population into their clinical practice or wants to be able to provide education to parents on common pediatric bowel and bladder issues. It includes both informational lectures and videos. This course is appropriate for PTs, OTs, and RNs treating children in an acute or outpatient environment.
