Course overview

This webinar discusses aspects of decolonizing mental health including, but not limited to, pathologizing societal problems at the individual level of care, standardized aspects of the mental health field acting as barriers, and the multicultural competency framework. This webinar is presented with Dr. Richard Q. Shin, of the University of Maryland College Park. His scholarly interests are primarily focused on how systemic, institutionalized forms of discrimination like racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ableism, and cissexism are perpetuated by mental health professionals in subtle and overt ways.
