Course overview

Up to 20% of the western population have at least weekly heartburn and/or acid regurgitation. Clinically troublesome heartburn is seen in 6% of the population. Familiarity with diagnostic criteria and pH monitoring tools help determine a diagnosis of pathologic acid reflux and determine treatment planning. In this online course, Karthik Ravi, M.D. and Eamonn M. Quigley, M.D., will discuss developments in gastroenterology and the treatment of nonerosive reflux disease and gastroparesis. Clinicians will learn diagnosis criteria, treatment guidelines and emerging modalities for assessment and treatment of gastroparesis and non-erosive reflux disease. This course aims to bridge the gap between the latest innovations in gastroenterology and the delivery of primary care. These topics were originally presented as part of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Gastroenterology Symposium. Nonerosive Reflux Disease: What Clinicians Need to Know in 2023 Gastroparesis - What is it and who has it?
