Course overview
In this module, occupational therapists will learn examination strategies to identify key features of common joint, nerve, and tendon impairments of the hand. Conditions discussed include De Quervain's tenosynovitis, trigger finger, carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes, osteoarthritis, and Dupuytren's disease. A series of case studies will guide occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants through evidence-based treatment approaches and ways to monitor therapeutic progress. This course provides occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants with the knowledge necessary to identify and treat common conditions of the hand and fingers using an evidence-based approach.
