Course overview
This issue looks at the subject of friendship and how its necessary for our growth and well being, with a particular focus on the consequences of loneliness and the friendship recession. Articles include a look at the specific challenges facing mens friendships, navigating the discomfort of making new friends, making accommodations for socially anxious kids, the elements of friendship that inherently reside within the therapeutic relationship, and sense of sisterhood between Black women. Other pieces examine how therapists can help disfigured clients build skills to navigate being avoided and judged, holistic healing techniques for treating trauma stored in the body, helping divorced women work through feelings of guilt, and an interview with speech coach Samara Bay.
