Course overview
Physicians and nurses have one of the highest rates of addiction in the workforce. An estimated 20% of nurses struggle with an addiction to drugs or alcohol (Addiction Center, 2019). Nurses who function in an impaired state are a danger to patients, colleagues, and themselves. After completing this course, nurses will be able to recognize, report, and intervene in the occurrence of SUD while supporting a culture of safety and support.
