Course overview
Crohns disease is one of two gastrointestinal disorders that comprise inflammatory bowel disease. A chronic and complex disorder, Crohns disease negatively impacts the well-being and quality of life of patients. This continuing education program will provide a review of the etiology, pathophysiology, and classification of Crohns disease. Available pharmacologic treatments, including mechanisms of action, side effect profiles, and recommended place in therapy, will be discussed in detail. The role of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as members of interdisciplinary care teams will be highlighted.
