Available by home study, and online (live class and live online broadcast by arrangement). Using evidence-based literature this program overviewsthe intersection of substance abuse disorders and co-occurring mental health and other problems. The course describes emerging treatment innovation for COD populations and changes in treatment delivery. Included in the study will be definitions of key concepts, steps in screening and comprehensive assessment of COD clients. Finally strategies for intervention will be discussed. COD clients present challenges to the successful maintenance of a therapeutic relationship. Best practice techniques are described for working with COD clients.
