Course overview
In patients with symptoms of acute stroke, early recognition and interventions have been identified as critical factors in stroke outcomes. Thrombolytic therapy continues to be the standard of care for treating ischemic strokes by restoring cerebral blood flow and limiting further brain injury. Given this, healthcare professionals must understand the mechanism of thrombolytic therapy, appropriate medication options, and complications. This course aims to inform healthcare professionals about ischemic stroke, thrombolytic treatment, and typical monitoring parameters in the acute care setting.
