Course overview

Course Overview The Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities has mandated that 4 hours of annual in-service training or continuing education must be completed by direct care workers giving care to those with disabilities, and be related to the specific needs of at least one recipient being currently served by the direct care worker. (See Appendix C of the iBudget Handbook.) This course has been created to expand the skills of those giving direct care and attendance to clients with disabilities and to meet this educational requirement. The material applies also to other care settings in which anxious, aggressive, or combative behaviors are encountered due to limited mental, emotional or physical abilities, for example, long term care or psychiatric settings.
