Course overview
This course aims to inform members of the healthcare team on how to recognize and manage spinal cord injury. First, anatomy of the spinal cord and vertebral column is explained. Then, the course reviews emergency care for spinal cord injury in the prehospital setting and emergency department. Finally, the course explains knowledge and skills for treating spinal cord injury in the acute care setting and how to prevent and manage complications.
