Course overview
Understanding the risks associated with psychotropic medications and when they should and should not be used is critical to ensuring quality care in your facility and compliance with federal regulations. This course provides an overview of psychotropic medication use in long-term care, or LTC. It discusses the complexity of care in assessing and caring for the individuals, the adverse effects of these medications, federal regulations governing the use of psychotropic medications, and the use of nonpharmacological strategies.
