Course Description New WV License Act and Legislative Rules This 7 hour WV New WV Real Estate Act and Legislative Rules course is purposed to inform licensees of the recent changes to WV Real Estate Act and the current Legislative Rules. This course will give an overview of the WV Real Estate License Act changes and Legislative Rules and how they are practiced and enforced. Students will examine the scope and practice of a licensee and how to comply with the WV License Act and Legislative Rules. Students will use WV Licensing Laws as a guide to protecting the public from false advertising, misrepresentation, fraud and undisclosed dual agency and disclosure. Including duties of reducing offers to writing and presenting those promptly and the requirement to turn earnest deposits over to their broker immediately. Students will model fair and honest dealings with all. Students will identify their duty to practice agency relationship disclosure, as defined in the WV Code Students will learn how to properly implement duties to clients, customers, duties to the public and to other licensees. Students will examine case studies of License Law violations. Students will identify their duty to satisfy education requirements annually to renew their license, how to comply with advertising, license transfer, the responsibility to act under the supervision of their broker. Students will examine specific violations of the License Act as described in 30-40-19 and how to avoid those violations. Students will apply the License Act and Legislative Rules to eliminate practices that damage the public and promote professionalism and ethics in their practice. Students will determine that the term licensee stands for integrity, competency, and fairness. Student will practice real estate according to the Golden Rule, treat others in the manner in which you would like to be treated.
