60 HOUR COMPUTER BASED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Course overview

This program meets the 60-hour educational requirement for certification as a Nationally Certified Gambling Counselor and addresses the typology of gamblers; the prevalence of problem and pathological gambling; dual diagnosis and co morbidity; assessment and intervention strategies; and treatment and relapse prevention techniques. The goal of the FCCG's professional training for mental health, addictions and other professionals is to train medical and health care professionals to assess and treat Florida citizens suffering from the affects of compulsive gambling and to assist family members trying to cope with this addiction. National gambling counselor certification has two levels. The educational requirements for National certification are: Level 1 requires 30 hours of professional training. Level II requires 60 hours of professional training.
