Course overview
This course provides an overview of loss, grief, and bereavement including theoretical underpinnings, psychosocial effects, and empirical evidence of related interventions. Culturally competent assessment and intervention skills are emphasized. Case examples feature the interface of grief and trauma. Course Objectives: * Describe the categories of loss and the factors that influence adaptation to grief. * Differentiate the models of grief. * Discuss the impact of loss in adulthood. * Discuss the impact of loss on children and adolescents.
