Course overview
This course reviews the role of obesity pathophysiology, the role of both genetics and environment, and current management and prevention methods for both adults and pediatric patients. Course objectives: 1) Understand the basic pathophysiology of obesity and the role of genetics in its development. 2) State and distinguish between various obesity screening tools. 3) Identify strong practices for nutrition and physical exercise in the management of obesity. 4) Demonstrate understanding of pediatric obesity, causes, and first-line treatment options.
