Course overview

The purpose of this course is to assist the healthcare provider in understanding the growth and development of the adolescent, cognitive development, relationship development, and mental health, and how this period can influence the ability to effectively respond to treatments, health education and health promotion. Changes in our society are reflected in the responses adolescents have toward their own health care. Meeting their needs is a challenge to all healthcare providers.
