Course overview

Helmeted patients pose different challenges to EMS providers when treating their injuries after an accident. In this course, we will review three different types of helmets worn and how they impact airway management, how energy will affect the patient's injuries, and four common challenges EMS providers face when working with helmeted patients, such as patient access, assessment, airway management, and communication with the patient.
