Understand Mindfulness and verbalize origin of mindfulness, Explore and gain understanding into biological and neurological impact of mindfulness, learn mindfulness and medication practices for self-care for patients and practitioners, Practical application of mindfulness in behavioral health. Brief summary of your presentation. Meditation is not about changing the context of experience, but merely noticing what is already happening, gaining influence over our experiences. Offering meditation and mindfulness to our practical repertoire can not only improve client outcomes, but also aid in the wellness of the practitioner. Participants will explore the origins of mindfulness/meditation, understand myths facts about its practice, learn patient populations that would benefit, and practice skills to use with clients and for themselves.
