Course overview
Participants will understand the recovery housing model and best practices to develop and sustain programs, develop positive work and social cultures, and support administrative practices to promote recovery from substance use disorder. Participants will understand current public policy initiatives related to recovery housing and the impact these policy initiatives have on program planning, administrative practices, and supportive services in order to advocate for and support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. Participates will understand how to apply the social model of recovery, respond to the needs of special population groups, implement evidence-based practices such as trauma-informed care, MAT, peer supportive services, and supported employment and effectively engage people in order to support individuals with substance use disorders in a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, chronic care approach to recovery and sobriety. Participants will understand confidentiality and its application to SUD treatment and recovery housing. Participants will understand federal rules that apply to programs and how to implement compliant programs and policies.
