The Adaptive Information Processing Model in Therapy

Course overview

The Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model in Therapy course is designed to help enhance the understanding of the foundational framework of many popular trauma modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting. The AIP model hypothesizes that maladaptively stored memories of trauma create obstacles to rational processing of information, which occurs in the prefrontal cortex of the brain. Participants will gain knowledge allowing them to integrate the AIP framework when addressing complex trauma and will enhance the depth of their case conceptualization.
