Course overview
Whether your practice offers in-person or telehealth services, do you know what to do when your practice and/or clients are in the path of severe weather, such as a hurricane or tropical storm? Prepare your practice in advance! The overall purpose of this program is to help program participants (a) Understand the importance of preparing your practice for severe weather, (b) Identify a variety of clinical and practical considerations relating to severe weather, and (c) Explore tools to help you plan for how you will take care of your practice and clients before, during, and after severe weather. In this course, you will (1) understand why it is important to understand and plan for severe weather events, (2) recognize legal, ethical, and clinical considerations with regard to severe weather, (3) review practical considerations for managing your practice before, during, and after severe weather; and (4) examine considerations for and be presented with tools to help you develop severe weather policies and procedures for your practice. Who this program is for: This program can be helpful to in-person and telehealth practice owners, administrators, and clinicians to explore important considerations for severe weather and its impacts on the practice, its clients, the community, and their providers.

A satisfactory score of 80% of higher on a post-test and/or an attestation form must be completed at the conclusion of the program in order to receive your CE Certificate.
