DEMENTIA IN THE ELDERLY

Course overview

This course aims to familiarize the student with the following key points regarding dementia: 1. Definition and characteristics of dementia 2. Identifying different types of dementia 3. Treatment modalities and interventions used in dementia management. Caregivers may misunderstand confusion in the elderly and the goal of this course is to gain a better understanding of the disease and its process so as to communicate effectively, care for the elderly dementia patient and better understand dementia issues in the demographic group while discussing resources for caring for them properly.
