Objectives Upon completion of this course participants will be able to: 1.Discuss the role of resistance testing in newly diagnosed HIV-seropositive patients. 2.Recount the pros and cons of initiating antiretroviral therapy during primary HIV infection. 3.List the diagnostic tests and immunizations that should be considered for newly presenting HIV-positive patients. 4.Describe important considerations when deciding whether to initiate antiretroviral therapy in chronically infected patients.
